Anaparthy has become a seat of controversy during the seat-sharing in 2024.
BJP was hellbent on getting the seat, which was a Reddy bastion.
M Shiva Krishnam Raju was announced as the BJP candidate then. Some of his Twitter posts were degrading to Balakrishna, the Telugu Desam Party, and Janasena. These posts have gone viral and irritated TDP and Janasena cadres.
The Then TDP Incharge Nallamilli Rama Krishna Reddy protested for the ticket.
Ultimately, TDP made a truce by sending Nallamilli into the BJP and giving him the ticket.
Nallamilli never intended to join the BJP, but he had no option.
If the BJP lost Anaparthy, Purandeshwari would have lost from the Rajahmundry Parliament too due to that impact. So, it was a smart move back then.
Nallamilli won as MLA and is currently the BJP MLA from Anaparthy.
He and his family are staunch TDP, and obviously his heart is in the Cycle Party.
It is rumored that the MLA’s son, Manoj, will be announced as the TDP In-charge soon.
This is a smart move by Nallamilli. In the future, if the alliance is gone, he wants his son to be the TDP candidate.
TDP will need an in-charge there. In case someone is appointed and he would come to the competition for the ticket in case the alliance is lost.
If his son is made the in-charge, there will be no problems whatsoever.
It is interesting to note that a similar arrangement has happened previously in Kurnool as well.
TG Venkatesh shifted from TDP to BJP as the Rajya Sabha MP, but his son, TG Bharath, was made the TDP In-charge for Kurnool.
He won as the MLA recently and is a Minister in Naidu’s cabinet right now.
