Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Elections in First Phase?

The Schedule for the General Elections and the State Assemblies that are going for elections is likely to be announced today or Monday, according to the sources. The Schedule is being delayed at the behest of the Central Government which is planning to promulgate an ordinance which gives reservations in the Promotions of Central Universities.

On the other side, the elections in both the Telugu States may happen in the first phase itself which means on 15th April. That will mean that there is just a little over one month for the elections. The first phase elections are planned so as to not give enough time for Chandrababu Naidu.

For 2014 elections, Election Commission announced the schedule on March 5th. The Elections for Telangana happened on April 30th and the polling in Andhra Pradesh took place on May 7th. Telangana Assembly Elections were supposed to happen along with Andhra Pradesh Elections but KCR dissolved the house early and finished the elections in December the last year.
