While there are talks of BJP becoming second biggest political force in media, reality seem to be biting hard the saffron party. BJP’s high command set a target of 10 Lakh new members in the ongoing membership drive to the Andhra Pradesh unit, but the drive is not even 30% achieved.
The party despite having few leaders from other parties joining it do not have proper cadre to take the membership drive forward. The leaders who are with BJP in the past and who joined the party very recently are also not interested in immediately impressing the party high command by spending money since elections are very far.
BJP National President Amit Shah is coming to Vijayawada on 9th of this month. The state leaders are some how trying to save their face by joining decent numbers by then. It is alleged that the dullness of the part is due to Vishakapatnam MP and the state unit President, Kambhampati Hari Babu’s inefficient leading of the party in Andhra Pradesh.
