AP Govt to Buy Rs 9.2 Crore Bulletproof Cars

The AP government has decided to buy 10 bulletproof cars at a cost of Rs 9.2 crore. It has issued directives to this end.

The vehicles are meant for security of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and other VIPs coming to the state.

The home department has directed to buy 10 Toyota Fortuner vehicles and make them bulletproof. Barring some important people in AP, the cars will be used for VIP security from other places.

Apart from the current fleet, the new cars will have new features, according to home department.

The new fleet could be vital to the security of Chandrababu due to threat perception from Maoists. It is known that his security was upgraded in January, 2025, after reports of Maoist attack.
