AP Third, Telangana Sixth in Investments: RBI

Andhra Pradesh is ranked third across the country in attracting the investment in 2016-17, according to a study by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Andhra Pradesh made up 8.2 per cent of the aggregate investment made in the country.

Gujarat and Maharashtra are ahead of Andhra Pradesh in attracting investments. The other Telugu State, Telangana is ranked Sixth among the state taking 5.5% of the aggregate investments. Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka are ahead of Telangana.

Pharmaceutical and drugs in Telangana formed a major share of the projects. Andhra Pradesh’s investments were a decline in 2016-17 when compared to 2015-16. The state without a capital held the highest share at 12.3 per cent in FY16.
