AP asks for paramilitary forces to check on ‘T’

Chandrababu naidu special requestAndhra Pradesh government is accusing Telangana state of secretly generating power from Srisailam and other reservoirs and demanded that the Center should interfere and deploy paramilitary forces to guard all the reservoirs. Andhra Pradesh dashed a letter to Union water resources ministry that Telangana is violating the Schedule 11 of AP Reorganization Act which decided the water release protocols between both the states.

AP officials claimed that the Center failed to implement the order of Krishna River Management Board which instructed Telangana not to utilise water from Srisailam for power generation beyond November 2, 2014. AP government reminded the Center that it is its responsibility to implement the order issued by a board constituted under an Act of Parliament.

Before taking any action, The Union water resources ministry will ask the Telangana government for an explanation as to why it did not comply with the orders issued by the KRMB.
