Andhra Pradesh government is reportedly receiving 1600 Crore funds assistance from the Centre for its capital construction. The state government has got information that the Union Urban Development Ministry will be sanctioning 1000 Crore and the Union Finance Ministry will be releasing another 600 Crore.
This 1600 Crore will be a far cry from the 20000 Crore required by the state by the end of this fiscal. The total capital construction is expected to cost about 1 Lakh Crore for the government. However it is said that the Centre promised to enhance the help once the Singapore team studies the master plan of the new capital along with the designs of various buildings proposed in the core capital.
It is known that a Singapore team from the Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) led by chief executive officer Khoo Teng Chye is working on the Master plan of the new capital. The team is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on March 3 on a three-day visit. We are said that they will be demonstrating the draft master plan of the new capital to the Chief Minister in this visit.
