AP CM Jagan Pays His Personal Income Tax Through Public Exchequer

The social media of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on social media frequently TomTom that their leader only takes One Rupee as Salary given the dire financial position of the state. This campaign is so intense that there is a vast section of people who believe it to be true.

But then, it turned out to be Fake. GAD Principal Secretary Praveen Prakash released a G.O. pertaining to the clearance of 7.14 Lakh Rupees towards the Income Tax of the Chief Minister. The income tax of the other Minister, Perni Nani is also cleared with the same G.O.

It is not clear if the income tax is only towards Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Income Tax from the salary and perks obtained through the Chief Minister post or various other avenues of the CM. Nowhere in the World, an employer pays income tax of his employee. But then, in governments, the employers and employees are same. So, there is no stopping.

If the public exchequer is used for paying the income tax, there is no way the Chief Minister can take home only One Rupee as Salary.
