Bogged down by the pressure of heavy fiscal and revenue deficits, Andhra Pradesh government had to cut down the allocations of various departments. The cash strapped Finance Minister cut down the allocations to Irrigation by a whopping 3207 Crore.
Social Welfare department fund allocations have been cut down by 534 Crore. Tribal Welfare funds were reduced by 157 Crore. All the remaining departments have seen very little increase in allocations due to the low cash inflow.
Few new expenses have added up to the state in this financial year when the revenues remained the same. The government allotted 3168 Crore for the construction of the state capital, 200 Crore for the Godavari Pushkaralu and 300 Crore for the Metro Projects in Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam. The finance Minister declared the revenues within the state will only be sufficient for salaries, pensions and other normal expenses and the center should help liberally for various development works and social welfare schemes.
