AP’s power hike goes light on Aam Aadmi

power charges in apThe Power charges in Andhra Pradesh have gone up slightly. The government made sure that common and middle class is not burdened by this hike. There is no increase in power prices if the usage is kept under 200 Units per month. After 200 Units, the power prices will go up by 5%. There are six Lakh families in the state who use more than 200 units a month. With this decision, government is giving a subsidy of 3186 Crore to the people.

This price hike is not applicable to Agriculture, Sugar, Poultry and cottage industries. Commercial Users using below 100 Units will not be affected by the hike. 9.24 Lakh will be benefited by that way. Commercial users who use more than 100 units a month will have to shell out extra 5%.

On the whole, Chandrababu Naidu’s government should be appreciated for going easy on common man despite the state being in severe financial doldrums. The revised prices will come in to effect from next month.
