AP,TS get a new reason to be at logger heads

According to Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, the power generated in the units of united AP should be shared by the two states in the ratio of 53.89 (Telangana) to 43.11 (AP). One year after the bifurcation, AP claims that Telangana owes 1200 Crores as Power dues for AP Genco.

While Telangana Genco says that AP has exaggerated the dues and it only owes around 300-400 Crores. They say both the states supply power to other, when both the dues are cancelled off, the remaining would be around Rs 300 to 400 crore. Stating that Telangana Genco had put the payment in pending.

Both the states have now asked their finance departments to examine the daily dispatch of power to the two states and the actual amount spent on fixed and variable costs. AP claims that T Genco officials have included hydel power in the joint account whereas hydel power generated at Jurala, Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam in Telangana were not consumed by AP at all. Telangana Genco is adding that to the joint account to decrease the dues.
