CM Chandrababu was speaking at ZP School in Kottacheruvu in Sri Satysai district on Thursday. He shared that when asked which department he would like to take, Lokesh insisted on taking education portfolio.
Even I felt it was a difficult portfolio. There are many activities to take care of. But Lokesh was adamant about his wish. He said he could transform the lives of children and impact their future through that portfolio, said CM to the assembled students, parents and teachers.
Lokesh studied at Stanford. Seeing him, many would want to study like him and become achievers. I told him to make use of his degree and chalk out activities. He will surely motivate students, said Chandrababu.
It is known that Nara Lokesh has brought about many reforms in the education department in just 1 year after taking up the role.
Doing away with heavy bags, insisting on education devoid of politics, declaring Saturdays as extra-curricular days, Shining Star awards are some of the changes initiated by Lokesh.
Lokesh has shown that he believes in holistic development of a child instead of mugging up for exams.
