Telangana Turns Six today. As the state celebrates its Sixth Formation Day, it is interesting to note how the Pre-Bifurcation assumptions were crashed in terms of both the Telugu States. Many predicted Power and Water problems for Telangana after the Bifurcation but then proactive leadership ensured that it does not happen.
Power Cuts are the thing of past in the recent year in Telangana even though the state resorted to huge purchases. Chief Minister KCR ensured that there is no water problem for the crops taking up some ambitious irrigation projects. The state has spent a whopping cost per acre for that to happen but the crop yield in the state is increasing by leaps and bounds.
Andhra Pradesh started promisingly taking up ambitious projects like Amaravati and Polavaram. Despite having no capital, the state with an efficient leadership managed projects like Kia Motors, Isuzu etc giving a tough competition for a state with well-equipped capital like Hyderabad.
However, the priorities have changed once the Government changed. Polavaram
is where it was one year ago and Amaravati came to a grinding halt. Six years after the bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh can not even say what its capital is. Coming to the investments, it is all about just welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh now. New investment is a matter of the past now.
