The main motto of the alliance with the BJP is to have a free and fair election. In 2019, the BJP-led Central Government completely supported the YSR Congress and troubled Telugu Desam Party big time in the election.
Even though the BJP is a burden politically, TDP and Janasena agreed to the alliance and gave seats more than its worth hoping that the Center will help counter the highheadedness of the YSR Congress in the elections.
When compared to Janasena, the BJP got a better deal in the seat-sharing.
But even some basic things are not done in this election.
The Election Commission is reserving Janasena’s Glass Tumbler Symbol only in the twenty-one Assembly segments and two Parliament Segments where the party is contesting. In the remaining segments, it is giving the symbol to independents.
There is a chance that Janasena’s votes can be prevented from going to TDP in such seats where JSP is not contesting.
This is a simple technical issue that the Election Commission can easily take care of.
If the BJP can not make it happen, what is the use of the alliance and sacrificing so many seats for the party?
Meanwhile, there is another party called Jateeya Janasena Party which was given Bucket symbol that is similar to the Glass Tumbler.
YSR Congress is fielding candidates with similar names to Janasena candidates so that Janasena voters will get to confuse.
