Biggest Democracy Victory as People Thwart an Army Coup

In what can be described as one of the greatest victories of democracy in Modern times, civilians in Turkey helped the government to prevent a coup by a section of the military. That section arrived in Angara and Istanbul in large numbers on Army tanks and tried to take over the Airport and a bridge that connects Turkey to Europe and Asia.

Turkey Prime Minister called for the civilians on Skype to help his government and the nation at the time of crisis. 1000s of people took to streets and overpowered the military rebels. In the process, several of them dead and injured. But finally the rebels surrendered as large number of human chains refused to give them the control.

Turkey Parliament was also hit by a jet which dropped bombs. The military loyal to the government took over the airport and bombed the rebel jet. Over 336 of the rebels were arrested as the normalcy is being restored. Ministry of External Affairs, India issued an advisory to people not to travel to Turkey until things are normal.
