The Modi wave seems to be just not subsiding in the country. Bharatiya Janata Party is going great guns in the Assembly election results of Maharashtra and Harayana coming out now. BJP is clearly forming the government in Harayana with 40+ seats in the 90 seats Assembly. Interestingly never even won 10 seats in this state in earlier elections. To be precise, BJP won only four seats in 2009 Assembly elections. Congress had been ruling the state for several years with its alliances.
Similar but slightly different scene is seen in Maharashtra, the 288 seats Assembly is heading towards a hung with BJP being the single largest party likely to get 100 plus seats. Interestingly BJP which is in alliance with Shiv Sena for more than 25 years never even contest in 100 seats of the state forget about winning. It is said that Shiv Sena wants to share CM seat to give its support to BJP while Sharad Pawar’s NCP is offering no condition support to the single largest party. It has to be seen if BJP accepts NCP’s support which is tainted by corruption allegations.
