
It’s been a week or so since BRS assigned the job of bringing back its MLAs and members who went to the Congress or BJP, to an ex-minister.
Party insiders say one round of talks have been held with leaders from Nizamabad, Adilabad, Nalgonda, Karimnagar and Warangal.

It is said, the MLAs are keen on explaining the circumstances that led them to leave the party to BRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao.
The inside grapevine in BRS is that 6-7 defectors have held talks with BRS leaders in the past two weeks and are looking at a re-entry into the pink party.

It is said the defectors fear by-elections and losing their seats that could adversely affect their political future. Elections would also mean financial expenditure and the BRS defectors feel they are not in a position to spend money again.
Also, with Supreme Court notices, they fear being disqualified. Hence they are looking at getting back into BRS after meeting KCR.

The defectors feel HYDRAA issues, other government policies are impacting their image leading to resistance in their constituencies.
Also, it was felt that others from BRS would follow the defectors into the Congress. But that did not happen. All these issues are forcing them to go back on their defection.
The defectors are now waiting for KCR’s reaction on the matter. Meanwhile, it is being said that in BRs, the leaders want the defectors back to strengthen the party at grassroots level. BRS intends to give them plum seats in their segments to make a strong base for the party.
