Reasons For Losing Jubilee Hills: BRS Cadre Feedback

BRS cadre meeting in Jubilee Hills

BRS lost the Jubilee Hills seat in the by election with a margin of 25,000 votes. The by election was held after the death of Maganti Gopinath, and BRS quickly named Maganti Sunitha as its candidate. You saw the party lean fully on sentiment.

The loss left the cadre upset. On Wednesday, the BRS Jubilee Hills workers met to understand what went wrong. KTR and Harish Rao attended the meeting and listened as workers shared their concerns about the campaign and internal issues.

KTR asked the cadre for clear feedback. Many workers said some key BRS leaders acted as Congress coverts and weakened the campaign. They added that a few leaders did not give their full effort during the crucial days of canvassing.

The cadre also spoke about poor coordination between local leaders and those who came from the districts. They said local leaders did not work with intent, and the absence of strong second-tier leaders affected the ground push. They conveyed all of this directly to KTR.

Poll analysts said BRS relied fully on sympathy and never presented itself as a strong rival to the ruling Congress. Congress ran an aggressive ground campaign, stayed organised and secured the win with clear planning and teamwork.
