Right now, AP boasts of 30.5% green cover. The plan is to boost the cover by 1.5% every year. Chandrababu has directed that the state of Andhra Pradesh must have 50% green cover by the year 2047.

Chandrababu is a future-focused CM and believes in the holistic development of the state. In the past too, he had taken up swach Andhra initiatives to promote cleanliness in the state.

With cities and towns turning into concrete jungles due to development, Chandrababu wants to ensure that the citizens of Andhra Pradesh breath in fresh air and enjoy robust health.

Chandrababu ordered the saplings to be planted in educational institutions, hospitals, public places, bus stations, along roads with proper plant guards.

Babu said satellite imagery must be used to gauge the green cover. He added that each plant must be geo-tagged. The focus must be on nurturing the plant, rather than just planting it, said Chandrababu.

The CM called for participation of corporates through CSR activity in reserved forest areas. Finally, Chandrababu called for developing all reserved forest areas in the Amaravati region using the Miyawaki method for results to show in three years.
