CBN to directly talk to farmers for capital lands!

chandrababu naidu with farmersThe cabinet sub committee formed to convince farmers to contribute their lands to the upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh will begin its work from the first week of November. They will be meeting farmers who are land owners and explain them the benefits of participating in this work. The members of the sub committee will spend their time for 10 days totally between the farmers and take up this task. Government is planning to collect lands from the second week of November itself in the areas where farmers willingly donate.

It is said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is also ready to come to these meetings and convince the farmers directly. The benefits and incentives which will be given to the farmers losing their lands will be finalized in the cabinet meeting on 29th or 30th of this month. Government is of the primary opinion that 30000 acres will be required for the construction of the capital. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act allows the denotification of forest lands for the state capital. The state government has already started the process. Once it is completed there will be a clarity regarding the amount of land that should be collected from the farmers.

Once the agreements with the willing farmers are done, State government may unleash Land Acquisition Act on remaining farmers if necessary. However government says this will be not beneficial for farmers in the long term and government will maximum try not to force farmers. Once the collection of lands is complete, government will pick up one design for the state capital submitted by International agencies.
