Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu sees the Vizag-Chennai industrial corridor as huge potential project to develop the truncated state. The govenment had decided to develop 200 roads linking the towns to the corridor. The roads will connect Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Nuziveedu, Vijayawada, Bhimavaram, Machilipatnam, Guntur, Ongole, Bapatla, Nellore, Gudur and Naidupeta to the industrial corridor with the objective to boost investments.

Asian Development Bank which is funding the mega project, will provide 90% of the finance required to develop these roads which will cost about 3000 Crore. In the first phase, four-lane and six-lane roads will be constructed to provide connectivity between ports, airports, railway stations, townships and bus stands.
The corridor will have six industrial townships with world-class infrastructure, road and rail connectivity for freight movement to and from ports. The corridor will have uninterrupted power supply, air connectivity and quality social infrastructure to attract new investments from south-east Asian countries, China and Japan.
