Prior to that, Union Cabinet will ratify the bill. As of now, under every MP segment, there are seven Assembly segments. They will be increased to nine which will take the MLA seats in AP to 225 (175 now) and in Telangana to 153 (119 now).

The ruling parties in both the states are urging to increase them which will ensure that the Jump Jilanis of the other parties will be easily accommodated. Congress which has the majority in Rajya Sabha will try its level best to stop that.
