Central government will have to bear the cost of Andhra Pradesh’s upcoming state capital according to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. Accordingly the center has offered 19700 Crores for the upcoming Outer Ring Road for the state capital. AP will have to identify and handover the land required for this ORR. It is said that the Center already wrote a letter to the state government assuring the funds.
This ORR stretching for 180 Kms will almost join Vijayawada and Guntur cities making them twin cities like Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The road will also ensure excellent connectivity to the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh to the capital. The entire sum will be given in installments from the time the construction began. It is said that the state government already started identification of ORR route.
Along with this, the center will also be funding for 4397 Kms of National highways in the state. This second proposal will be taken at a later stage.
