Center responds on NTR’s name to Hyderabad Airport!

Central government finally responded on the ongoing controversy regarding naming the domestic terminal of Shamshabad Airport on Legend Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. Congress and TRS MPs have been protesting on the name change in Parliament for the last couple of days and finally Center issued a clarification regarding the issue. Home Minister Arun Jaitley reiterated that NTR name will continue for the domestic terminal of Hyderabad Airport and International Terminal will have Rajiv Gandhi name.

“Both NT Rama Rao and Rajiv Gandhi are respectable leaders. Kindly do not make controversies on this issue”, Jaitley said. Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that NDA government only restored NTR’s name which was earlier for the Domestic Terminal of Begumpet Airport.

Congress MPs have staged a protest at Gandhi Statue in Parliament and threatened to take the protests till the GO is taken back. They also alleged that it is wrong to name an airport on two names which has only one runway.
