The Central government had finally decided to put an end to the ‘Power’ controversies plaguing the Telugu States. The Center had informed both the states that a decision regarding the power sharing in Hinduja and Krishnapatnam Power Plants will be taken and announced on 30th of this month.
Both these power plants together will produce 1320MW Power in 2015-16. While Andhra Pradesh government claims all the power itself due to unapproved PPAs, Telangana claims to get a share from them according to Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.
It is known that Telangana is awarded 53.89% Power from all the power projects after state bifurcation. But Andhra Pradesh had withdrew unapproved PPAs of new power projects of Krishnapatnam and Hinduja and refused Telangana share from them. They only agreed to share in the equity of the project for Telangana’s investment.
