Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his displeasure on 14th Finance Commission Report. The Chief Minister termed the commission as a failure in making up for the deficit budget of the Andhra Pradesh.
“State bifurcation is forced on Andhra Pradesh. We asked for a level playing field on par with states that have Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. But there is no extra help for AP which will make that happen”, Chandrababu lamented. He appreciated the increasing of states’ share in central taxes.
He also reminded that this help from center will only be enough for paying salaries and normal maintenance but will not be sufficient to attract new investments in to the state. He also told that with the help of these funds, states like Telangana and Karnataka will have a surplus budget of 1,18,000 Crores but Andhra Pradesh will still be seeing deficit.
