The current term of the Body of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is ending this month, and the elections are to happen this month-end. But then, the current President, Bharat Bhushan, is trying for an extension, bypassing the rules.
The other day, the EC meeting was on fire as Bharat Bhushan and Treasurer Prasanna forced a resolution of extension.

The By-laws of the Chamber permit Extension only in the case of God-made disasters.
The Extension happened only twice in history. Narayan Das Narang got an extension during the Corona, while NV Prasad previously got one during the Bifurcation.

Bharath Bhushan and his team say they need an extension because Bharath Bhushan is close to the CMs of both the Telugu States, and that connections would ensure appointments and work.
The Opposing faction is questioning why they did not get the CM appointment earlier.

Sravanthi Ravi Kishore once asked to get an extension for 2-3 months to get those appointments and stuff, but Bharat Bhushan pushed for a full-term extension.
Bharath Bhushan got the extension passed by convincing the majority of EC members that they would also get an extension without going to the election.
Other EC Members like Sravanthi Ravi Kishore and Kolla Ashok Kumar vehemently opposed this extension.
They say this will set a bad precedent for the Chamber as well as the other federations to bypass the rules and get such extensions in the future.
Kolla Ashok Kumar is contemplating going to court against this.
“The General Body (~1650 members) should approve an extension. The EC can not approve. It is like MLAs themselves passing a resolution that they will get one more term,” a source in the Chamber told M9 News.
There are rumors that Bharath Bhushan and Prasanna are pushing for an extension because of the latest real estate project they are planning in Chitrapuri. Being in power is extremely crucial when such a costly project is coming up.
It is interesting to note that the Big players like Dil Raju, Sunil Narang, Mythri Ravi, Suresh Babu, and Tagore Madhu did not attend this meeting.
It is not clear if they missed this meeting with a plan.
