Chandrababu Hurts Jagan’s Ego Twice

Telugu Desam Party with its majority in the Legislative Council managed to block the crucial CRDA Repeal bill and Decentralization Bill for the second time in a row. The House adjourned sine die without taking up the discussion on the bills.

The Government would have a chance to ‘Deemed to be passed’ even if the house rejected the bill but the main opposition did not give the chance. Despite its majority in the Assembly, the ruling party was embarrassed twice on the crucial three capitals issue.

Previously when the Chief Minister’s ego was hurt on the issue, he brought resolution to abolish the council. It has to be seen how they retaliate now. There were reports that the ruling party tried to buy out some MLCs from the Opposition but most of them are TDP loyalists and did not yield.

Normally those in power would not stand dissent. Furthermore, someone like Jagan Mohan Reddy who came to Power with 151 MLAs would not like the very mention of dissent. But it has happened twice to Jagan and that too on a very important issue. The Chief Minister would have been fuming.
