Bapatla police have arrested 8 people involved in encroachment of land which is registered in the name of CM Chandrababu Naidu.
They had taken over 9.5 cents of prime land in Nidamarru village. After a thorough investigation by DSP Ravi Shankar Reddy, the accused were taken into custody.

If one goes to the back story, the land was purchased by one TDP supporter M Harish who wanted to donate it for the construction of party office.
The purchase was made in the name of TDP head Chandrababu as a donation to the party.

The accused had forged papers and manipulated records to gain access to the land. The scam dates back to 2011 according to a report in The New Indian Express. A woman forged papers and acquired land back then.
Document writer Narasimha Rao was arrested following a complaint by the tahsildar. But after coming out of jail, Rao was back to his ways. He joined hands with land mafia and sold the land seven times in 14 years.

TDP town incharge G Srinivasa Rao lodged a complaint on November 1, 2024, after consulting with MLA V Narendra Varma.
Those arrested include K Satyavedam, B Srinivasa Rao, N Srinivasulu, N Lalita, K Siva Reddy, U Koteswara Rao, N Sathar Reddy and N Narasimha Rao.
The accused were in custody when produced in the court.
