Naidu has no option but to accommodate Nirmala?

The other day, BJP National President Amit Shah called Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and invited him to the oath taking ceremony of Assam Chief Minister. BJP is inviting all NDA Chief Ministers to the event. At the same time, Amit Shah reportedly asked to renominate Nirmala Sitharaman.

Naidu reportedly promised to get back to him after consultations in the party. TDP sources say that Naidu may have to accomodate Nirmala Sitharaman due to political compulsions with BJP and various needs that arise from the Center. That will mean that TDP will end up only with two seats.

It was TDP who nominated her to Rajya Sabha for a term of 2 years. But there is immense pressure on Naidu not to back her now as the special category status issue is a huge controversy in the state and backing her would send wrong signals that the alliance is all about power and posts. We will have to see what Naidu does!
