The other day, Eenadu Published a Main Page item on Former Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy’s atrocities under the name of “అడవిలో అక్రమ సామ్రాజ్యం”.
The piece is about how Peddireddy illegally usurped Forest Lands to build a farmhouse and a big building. It also mentions how Market Committee Funds were diverted to construct a road to the building.

Eenadu forced immediate action and the Government immediately appointed a Joint Committee to look into it. The media reported that the Chief Minister was very serious about the issue.
The Joint Committee comprises the Chittoor District Collector, SP, and Anantapur Forest Conservators.

That brings us to the question if the Government was not aware of these irregularities until the Eenadu report.
It is been seven months since the new Government came to power. Everyone in the state knows Peddireddy is not a saint.

Why did the officials not give this report to the government earlier?
Why should Eenadu do the job of the Government officials?
It gives us an impression that the entire Government Machinery is full of Jagan’s men and those leaders who did anarchy in the last five years are safe.
There will be action only if someone reports and if not, the corrupted will go unnoticed.
A few days ago, the news has it that during Sankranti, A Limestone mine was leased to YS Venkata Reddy, who is a relative of Jagan. The lease was executed in record speed flouting many rules. The lease was canceled after TDP activists raised an outcry.
So the Government will get information only if Eenadu or some other media reports something.
That raises serious concerns over Chandrababu Naidu’s lack of grip on the Government Officials.
The entire Government machinery needs a serious overhaul. If not the same machinery will engulf the Government.
