After a very painful election result, Jaya Prakash Narayan’s Lok Satta is battling labour pains. The party which called itself a Change Crusader managed crucial 2% votes in 2009 elections. The vote share went on to become game changer in that elections in several seats despite the party only winning a single seat.
However the expectations plummeted in the consecutive years with the party drawing big blank and losing all its deposits in both the Telugu States. The major problem with Lok Satta is the lack of proper second level leadership. People do have respect for JP and will vote to him. But JP can not be contesting in all the seats and in a realistic point of view, he can not even be the Chief Minister.
There are couple of known faces in Lok Satta like Katari Srinivasa Rao and DVS Varma. But all of sudden, the party high command suspended them and they went on to wave red flag at the party. The internal infighting in the party which only diminish the prestige further in the people. If at all Aam Admi Party manages to foray in to the Telugu States it will for sure eat in to Lok Satta’s pie completely.
