Vijay’s First Flag-Hoisting As CM, Trisha Joins

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay hoisted the national flag at Fort St. George in Chennai on the occasion of Independence Day. It was his first Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony as Chief Minister following his victory in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Actress Trisha was also present at the programme and was seen seated among the guests ahead of Vijay’s flag-hoisting ceremony. While the focus of the event was clearly on the Independence Day celebrations and Vijay’s responsibilities as Chief Minister, Trisha‘s presence added another talking point for fans and social media considering her long association with Vijay.

For Vijay, though, the occasion had a significance beyond the ceremony itself. The actor who spent years ruling the silver screen was now standing at Fort St. George as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, hoisting the national flag.

It was a striking reminder of just how dramatically his journey has changed from being a superstar on screen to holding one of the state’s highest offices.
