Congress Doing More Harm Than Help to AP

Congress Party which rushed in to bifurcation ignoring the views and aspiration of AP People for electoral benefit in Telangana, suddenly developed big love for the state and is putting up a fight in Parliament for the Special Status of the state. BJP successfully prevented voting on the Private Member Bill on Friday.

And the Private Member Bill can not be taken up until next Friday but the party is stalling the parliament demanding voting on the bill even though it knows it can not happen until Friday. On the other side, Political observers say that Congress’ pushing for the Special Status will only complicate things for AP.

“After all this ruckus, BJP would not give Special Status and give the credit to Congress. Even if the bill is passed, it will not help the cause. Congress’ fight may have just sealed the little hope about Special Status if any,” a political analyst say. Further, Special Status Bill is a finance bill which can not be taken up in Rajya Sabha and so it can not stand legally even if passed.
