After resigning to Congress Party and MP position, Purandhareeswari first time conducted a loyalists meet in her daughter’s house in Vishakapatnam. In her meeting she explained them her reasons for quitting the party. “Digvijay Singh few months back called me around 10.30 PM. He asked me to choose any seat from Vijayawada, Bapatla and Narasarao Peta. Is it the right time or right way to approach a women MP? I several times made it clear that I will be with Vizag but looks like the high command never cared”.
“I sensed that Congress is going one sided on state bifurcation. I pressed the point for Samayikya Andhra, high command never cared. I called for other leaders to fight for our rights, every one ignored and even termed me as a separatist. I am indebted to Vizag people. I need all your blessings”, she added. She also made it clear that she did not decide up on her future course of action. She also said that she is not in talks with any party as of now.
