Hyderabad Traffic Police are gearing up for stern rules to curb traffic offences in the city. They are also planning to control the speed demons in the city. Till now, those who are indulged in rash driving are let off with a fine but now the police are planning to register criminal cases on them. The government is all set to bring changes to the current Motor Vehicle Act. Any Motorist who crosses 60Kmph will be booked.
There are even several regular cases of racing on Necklace Road-Sanjeevaiah Park, Jubilee Hills check post-TRS Bhavan via Cancer hospital, Road No. 2 & 3 at Banjara Hills and Road No. 36 at Jubilee Hills. Most of these speedsters belong to high rich class and letting off them with fines is not at all proving to be effective.
On Saturday alone, 300 youngsters along with a Union minister’s son was booked for rash driving. The Hyderabad City police were equipped with only six speed guns to nab such offenders and they are currently also planning to increase their armoury
