As the Corona Crisis in Telangana is worsening, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has hinted about yet another Lockdown. The state cabinet will sit in a few days and decide on it. Hours after the KCR’s statement, media reports suggest that Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Ali is tested positive for Coronavirus.
Corona has no bias between rich and poor. So, the minister getting infected is no big deal. But then, there is much more than what eye meets here. Five Security Personnel of the Home Minister were tested positive last week. A day after that, the Home Minister is irresponsibly seen at a Harithaharam program along with the top police officials.
That speaks volumes about the attitude of those in power. The Home Minister was admitted to a Private Hospital in Jubilee Hills. This will remind us about the statement of the Chief Minister a few months ago – “Be it Lakhpathi or Crorepathi, whosoever gets Corona in Telangana should be admitted in Gandhi Hospital”.
Now, the big question is if the idea of another Lockdown is just an eyewash to showcase as Government doing something to manage this crisis or if the Government really learned a lesson. A team from the Central Government is visiting Telangana today to review the ongoing Crisis in the state. The people of the state will expect the Central Team to straighten the state Government.
According to the medical bulletin released last night, the total cases in Telangana go up to 14,419. The state has recorded 983 cases from 3,227 samples. These samples are of the backlog samples until last Thursday. The state government has stopped the tests since Friday due to the backlogs.
