Corona Vaccine is Not Easy for One More Reason

Researchers across the globe are working on a possible Vaccine for the Coronavirus. However, there is bad news for them and all of us who are waiting for it. Scientists from Zhejiang University in China claim that they have discovered more than 30 mutations of the new coronavirus.

They say this may partly explain why it has been more deadly in certain parts of the world. The study was written by a team including Professor Li Lanjuan, one of China’s top scientists who was reportedly the first expert to propose a lockdown in Wuhan – where the virus originated.

This makes it difficult to develop a vaccine and a single vaccine may not attend to the various mutations across several countries. The deadliest mutations in the patients in the study had also been found in most patients across Europe. The milder strains were the predominant types found in parts of the United States, such as Washington state

There are over 26 Lakh confirmed cases across the globe while it has resulted in close to Two Lakh deaths. More than half of the globe is under Lockdown and there is no clarity when the normalcy will be restored. In India, there are more than 21,000 cases already.
