Kavitha was produced before Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court earlier today. The CBI alleged that Kavitha was one of the key conspirators of the Liquor policy scam.

It was stated that she, as a part of the “south group”, paid crores of rupees to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, to obtain liquor licences under Delhi’s liquor policy. The CBI also alleged that Kavitha threatened the other accused individuals to pay her Rs. 25 crores as a part of this scam.

The CBI also accused Kavitha of not giving satisfactory answers during the interrogation. It believes that she could be trapped by providing solid evidence. Meanwhile, Kavitha’s lawyers argued that the CBI cannot arrest her as she is already serving judicial custody.

The court reserved the verdict and allowed the CBI to take Kavitha into its custody till April 14. As per the court’s order, she is being shifted to the CBI office from the Tihar jail. She will be produced before the court again on April 15.
