Dammalapati Srinivas has been appointed as the Advocate General of Andhra Pradesh.
He was the AG during TDP’s rule between 2014-19. After coming to power, Jagan witch-hunted Dammalapati by registering cases of Amaravati Insider Trading on him.
The AP government has registered cases against him under the Corruption Act for allegedly acquiring assets over his proceeds.
But in 2021, the High Court struck down the cases against Dammalapati and his relatives and family members, saying the allegations were baseless and there was no evidence anywhere regarding Insider trading.
The Court also issued orders quashing the FIR registered against him. It became a precedent to strike down all the cases related to Amaravati Insider Trading.
With TDP coming back to power recently, CM Chandrababu has chosen Dammalapati once again.
To this extent, Chief Secretary Muddada Ravichandra has issued orders.
