Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender has filed an affidavit before the Speaker of the Telangana Assembly seeking to stop his disqualification. He requested that the petition filed by BRS demanding his disqualification be dismissed. Danam stated that the allegations lack valid grounds.
Danam Nagender said he never left BRS and had no information about being suspended from the party. He clarified that he attended a Congress party meeting in 2024 on a personal invitation. According to him, media reports led BRS to wrongly assume that he had quit.
He stated that his affidavit only addresses the allegations linked to the disqualification petition. Citing past court orders, Danam argued that the disqualification case does not stand legally. He requested that any developments following the petition should not be considered.
Danam Nagender has been summoned by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar to submit his explanation on January 30. The matter has now drawn attention within political circles. The latest move has triggered fresh debate among Telangana political analysts.
Many observers are surprised by Danam’s changing stance and his recent openness towards BRS. Earlier, he had said he was prepared to face bypolls. His latest position has raised questions about shifting narratives and political convenience.
