Union Home Minister Rajnath singh clarified that the central government will very soon be taking a decision on Special Status for Andhra Pradesh. Few days ago, BJP President Amit Shah stated that his party will not go back on the promise made to the truncated state.

In the wake of these statements from BJP Top Brass, hopes are ushering on Special Status which is very crucial for the development of the state. Rajnath also said that there are several issues between both the state and center is clearing one after the other.
The then UPA government promised Special Status to Andhra Pradesh for 5 years. They did not incorporate it in to the Reorganization Act and instead, made the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh make a statement in the floor of the house.
