Delhi government urged the Bollywood superstars including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan, Govinda, Arbaaz Khan and Sunny Leone not to endorse Pan masala products.

The government cites the reason of increasing Oral cancers due to the chewing of pan masala products. They elaborated that even if these pan masalas do not contain tobacco or nicotine, they surely contain areca nuts (supari) which will lead to cancer. As youngsters taking celebrities as role model and requested them not to cast in those kinds of advertisements. Already, the tobacco use in woman is increasing rapidly in India than world.
The Delhi government is promoting anti-tobacco campaign by observing day free of tobacco on the last day of every month. Though the government banned the sale, purchase and storage of chewable tobacco products but not been implemented due to various cases filed by the tobacco manufacturers in courts
