‘This Medicine Isn’t for All Corona Patients’

While Hydroxychloroquine isn’t considered a magic drug for the treatment of COVID-19 patients to fight against the deadly virus, several testing centers across Mumbai have started administering this drug as per the recommendations of ICMR.

According to a report in the Times of India, the laboratory studies have given hope that the drug has been found effective. However, the drug isn’t for everyone and it has to be taken only under medical supervision, only with a proper medical prescription.

This drug is given to health workers treating COVID-19 patients and for post-exposure. However, this drug isn’t for the treatment but only for controlling the multiplication of the virus as per the above-mentioned TOI report.

Indian Council for Medical Research is presently using this chloroquine for the doctors and health workers depending on their exposure. However, the drug isn’t available in the market as people have been hoarding it thinking it’s the magic remedy for COVID-19.
