EC‘s Timeline For Telangana Elections Schedule?

Meanwhile, coming to the topic, the election commission has hinted that the notification for the coming elections in Telangana could be out this October.

The tenure for the current government will be drawing to a close on the 16th of January next year. The elections are to be held prior to the same.

In 2018, KCR canceled the assembly prematurely and the elections were held on December 7 while the notification came out on November 12. The results were announced on December 11. The period between the notification and counting was just one month.

This time around, the notification could be advanced by a month compared to last time. If the election notification is indeed out in October, then the polls could be held in November or December.

The EC higher officials toured Telangana last week and discussed the election process, say reports. There are reports that the election notification could be out in the second week of October this time.
