Hyderabad Metro Rail Project had completed three years in construction with out any sign of beginning the operations. The construction is totally marred with multiple revisions and recurring controversies. The woes of the project just got doubled with the Telangana state formation.

There were apprehensions of the financial feasibility of the project and there were several concerns from the government itself which is proposing few changes in the existing routes. These changes are increasing the project costs and decreasing the profitability.
On the other side, citizens are also suffering with roads shrunk to half their size due to the ongoing construction. The traffic woes just got doubled in these route and it is nothing sort of hell especially in peak hours. As of now, two stretches – the 8-km-long Nagole to Mettuguda line and the 11-km-long Miyapur to SR Nagar line – will be operational by March, 2016 and remaining are not guaranteed due to the ongoing realignment tussle between the concessionaire and the state government.
