The craze for “fancy numbers” is fueled by superstitions and VIP culture, with the wealthy and even the middle-class spending significant sums in auctions. This trend, led by politicians and celebrities, extends to expensive cars and even humble two-wheelers.
Despite their high cost, the Road Transport Authority (RTA) sees a high demand for these special numbers. The willingness of bidders to spend large amounts reflects the strong appeal of these unique numbers, unaffected by the costs.
On Tuesday, an auction was conducted for fancy registration numbers in Hyderabad, and the prices reached unbelievable figures.
