Fibernet Case Struck Down Against Chandrababu

Fibernet case verdict Chandrababu

The Vijayawada ACB Court has struck down the fibernet case filed against Chandrababu during the YSRCP rule. YSRCP had accused him of graft in the Fibernet Corporation, and the CID had filed a case at the time. Along with CM Chandrababu, the other accused were also given a clean chit.

The case was filed by the then MD Madhusudhan Reddy with the CID. He alleged that between 2014-19, tenders were given to several software companies by the Fibernet Corporation. He claimed this caused losses amounting to Rs 114 crore.

Several individuals were named as accused, including software companies from Delhi and Mumbai. A list of 99 witnesses was submitted. The CID later filed a report stating that the inquiry was completed and submitted it to the Vijayawada ACB Court.

Meanwhile, the former MD of Fibernet submitted an affidavit to the Court on November 24. He stated that no discrepancies had occurred in the case. The present MD Geetanjali Sharma also filed an affidavit supporting the same claims.

Before the Court delivered its final order, Fibernet ex chairman and YSRCP leader Gautam Reddy filed a protest petition. He argued that he must be heard in the matter. The Court rejected the petition, stating it lacked credibility.

The Court then struck down the Fibernet case. It was also noted that the CBI could not prove the allegations and termed them baseless. The dismissal of the case has reinforced claims that it was politically motivated to gain traction during the 2024 elections.
