In a whole new twist on the Jayalalithaa incident, the Karnataka Government has made the decision to recover all its money spent on the 13 year long Jayalalithaa trial from the Tamil Nadu government.

It is certainly a big decision since the money spent of legal expenses itself is 5.12 crore and if Karnataka law minister TB Jayachandra is to be believed, they have not even calculated the expenses incurred by the home departments yet towards the security arrangements whenever she came into the city as well as the expenses of the other departments. Moreover with the state government deciding to appeal against the Karnataka high court’s acquittal of Jayalalithaa, the expenses will go up significantly.
It is important here to note that the Supreme court had transferred this case to Bengaluru since a fair trial was not possible in Tamil Nadu with Jayalalithaa as the Chief Minister.
