First Ever BITS AI Plus Campus, in Amaravati

BITS chancellor Kumaramangalam Birla announced that AI Plus Campus would be set up in capital Amaravati. The industrialist said they will transform Amaravati into latest technology education center.

The center will have courses in artificial intelligence, data science, robotics, computational linguistics, cyber physical systems and other such courses.

Birla also shared that the campus will be developed in 2 phases with an intake of 7000 students. Student admissions will begin in 2027. He said they would be investing Rs 1000 crore in Amaravati in 5 years.

Kumaramangalam Birla further said that the campus will be on lines of Chandrababu’s vision. He shared that the lands were allotted at low prices. The architecture of the building is almost final, shared Birla.

Green buildings, reweable electricity will be used in building the campus. With IoT, AI services, it will be a digital first campus, said Kumaramangalam. The students who pass out will fit into national and international companies, shared Kumaramangalam.

For UG and training courses, generative AI, smart cities, AI for healthcare and other such courses would be available. The students will get to study 2 years in Amaravati and 2 years abroad. They will be able to do joint PhDs.

Amaravati campus will be the first AI campus in the country. 70 acres have been allotted for BITS Amaravati. It will located near seed access road close to Venkateswaraswamy temple. The campus buildings will be modelled around temple architecture.
